Admit it: youve wanted this from the first time you saw a flip phone back in the 90s. Why did it take 20 years before we could deliver it to you? Look, its technology from the FUTURE. These things take time to get right, okay?

With the flick of a wrist, you will be answering calls like Kirk and Spock with the very first fully-functional wireless Star Trek Communicator. Is it accurate? Well, it was created using 3D scans of the alpha hero prop. How does it work? It pairs up with your Bluetooth-enabled phone just like a wireless speaker or a pair of headphones would. Speaking of which, you can also use it as a speaker for hands-free calls or streaming music from your Bluetooth-enabled audio player. And a high-quality MEMS microphone ensures Scotty can make out your One to beam up. The stand also provides built-in contactless charging capability. And, in case it wasnt already impressive enough, the Communicator has built-in authentic sound effects and conversation fragments from the Star Trek Universe for additional geek cred. As if you needed any additional geek cred after you whipped this baby out.

Son Of Svengoolie - "Star Trek" (1979)

Son Of Svengoolie - "Star Trek" (1979) Heres an early segment from Son of Sven - Star Trek. I dont understand what happened at the end - its like it got cut off. Was there supposed to be some other joke or a To Be Continued... sign? I wonder if this is an unfinished take of the sketch.

Not sure what episode this was from but based on the fact that Star Trek: The Motion Picture came out in 1979, I figure its an early one.

This aired on local Chicago TV on a Saturday in the latter half of 1979.

KXTX Channel 39 [Dallas-Fort Worth, TX] - Star Trek - "Arena" (Technical Difficulties Moment, 1979)

KXTX Channel 39 [Dallas-Fort Worth, TX] - Star Trek - "Arena" (Technical Difficulties Moment, 1979) Heres an excerpt from an airing of an episode of the original Star Trek series on KXTX Channel 39 in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (then owned by the Christian Broadcasting Network, now owned by Telemundo - and thus, a sister station to our own WSNS Channel 44, hence a six-degrees-of-separation Chicago connection).

After the station ID/Next promo (voiceover by ??), they start right off the bat with a misthreaded presentation (from the 16mm film projector) of the episode Arena (Season 1, Episode 18, originally aired on the NBC Network on January 19th 1967), and almost immediately, they not-so-boldly go where every station has gone before - to the dreaded Technical Difficulties - Please Stand By slide (on for 19 seconds before they go back to normal).

This aired on local Dallas-Fort Worth TV on Tuesday, May 8th 1979 (not from Chicago, but still interesting nevertheless).

Star Trek 1979 Intro and Warp

Star Trek 1979 Intro and Warp The longest sequence of all the movies. I chopped off all the Kirk and Scotty scenes since one youtube tells me a long, continuous sequence violates their copyright and second there was really way too many scenes with those two.

As you can tell since this is the first showing of the Enterprise since the TV series there was a lot of love put in theamour shot of it plus it also set the formula for all the otheramour shots of the Enterprise when they introduce in each movie.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) ORIGINAL: Wormhole scene ( Paramount Pictures 1979 )

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) ORIGINAL: Wormhole scene ( Paramount Pictures 1979 ) This is the wormhole scene from the original 1979 film recorded from the original VHS tape. The obvious reason why I have capitalized the word ORIGINAL in the title is becuase many young people on YouTube fail to do this This makes it VERY fustrating for the ORGINAL fans of the movie do a search for what they thought was the ORIGINAL movie clip they would end up with the remake Star Trek 2009 by J.J Abrams which is the new reboot of the old movie which you dont want.
This can be fustrating For every new movie post Ill make Ill add the word ORIGINAL to the movie title to keep the fans of both the ORIGINAL TV (60s) and Movie Series (79 - 80s) happy Or for that matter anyone who was born in the 60s and grew up with the series will greatly appreciate me for it. ;).

The orginal alarm sound ( ships alarm sound) is the rapid tweeting sound you hear in the background as the ship approaches light speed. I did not like the alarm sound in the newly remastered version of the DVD. I tried to encode the file in bluray HD but the whole film will take a few hours to encode using Roxio 2010 Video Converter so I just captured the movie by playing it with Windows Media Player and using WMCapture to encode the file in standard mpeg2 format. When time permits I will encode just this entire scene in bluray HD as well as other ORIGINAL movies and post them here.

The interesting thing about this scene from a physics POV is that the crews voices start to slow down as the ship approaches lightspeed becuase light travels faster (186,282 miles per sec.) than sound (742mph). The light stream(s) from the ship consoles and around the crew of the ship forms becuase both the ship and the crew are traveling near 99% the speed of light. And not only are the crew just bearly speeding ahead of the light but are traveling 99% the speed of light itself Amazing as it is

Its an old physics question as is this: If you were in a car which was traveling at the speed of light and turned the head lights on would the beam of light shine ahead of you and the car? Yes becuase the car can only travel near 99% the speed of light and its mass increases as its speed gets near to it but it can never reach that speed. The light beam will always travel ahead of the car.

Star Trek: Klingon

Star Trek: Klingon This episode is from the 1996 Interactive Movie game Star Trek: Klingon.

Written by Hilary Bader, directed by Jonathan Frakes, and featured music by Gregory Smith.

It is presented in first person like a FPS game, though it was a decision game, where you watch the action and make decisions at key points.

You assume the role of Pok, a young Klingon about to undergo the Rite of Ascension.

The celebration is intepted, however, when Poks father is killed during an assassination attempt on Gowrons life.

Gowron and Pok then swear a blood oath to find the killers and bring them to honorable justice.
